Fixed it.
Dunno how though. I moved most all of the non-unique settings from the
SIP$mac.cnf file to the SIPDefault.cnf file and it now registers.
Very odd!!
It's still complaining about a parsing error in the SIPDefault file
though. I'll fix that when I have nothing better to do.

Hi all,
So I finally upgraded my ageing 7960 to 8.12 and now it will not log
into my 0.6.1 astlinux system. The config files are exactly the same
(just the firmware got upgraded) but yet Asterisk returns a 401 error
for every request attempt the 7960 makes.
