I believe your issue is due to this line in your agi script:

In order for your script to communicate with Asterisk, you need to send
the commands directly to stdout. But in your case, you are redirecting

Honestly, Asterisk 10 was not on our radar at the moment.
Does Asterisk 10 use the same file layout as 1.4 and 1.8 ? Are the sounds/moh
files located in the same place, etc. ? If so, not much changing to our
package/asterisk/asterisk.mk should be necessary to give it a try.

I'm not sure why you are seeing disk I/O errors, but here are a few tips.
1) Why not use a CF card for storage in the net5501, SandDisk CF cards (Ultra
II's are good) are know to work well in the net5501. 2GB or 4GB is usually
plenty for typical usage.
2) If you installed AstLinux by
