Tom, My main box is the latest AstLinux with Asterisk 1.8, and lots of macros that work. The problem with macros is when you nest them too deeply since they are stack based, so watch for macros calling macros calling macros... I seem to recall less then 10 deep is usually OK. I'd suggest you

when ive seen this it is a bad SSD / Flash card..  it also often remounts the filesystem read only..  then asterisk cant write the SIP registrations to the Asterisk DB.. in my experience  you can reboot the machine and it will run for a while.. and ive never lost any files...  ive always been a
