The 1.4 firmware upgrades are there for AstLinux 1.1.0 because some code was
added to force VIA users over to the Generic i586 platform. Astlinux 1.1.0
will be the last image for Asterisk 1.4.x and the last fo

the bullet and transitioned from 1.4 to 1.8. Overall, the process was
extremely smooth. Asterisk provides documentation on configuration changes.
They claim that some things need to be removed/changed in your dialplan
