IE6 and FF render Atom/RSS feeds as html using the
xml-stylesheet directive, however, IE7 Beta 2 drops the feed's xml-stylesheet
directive, if one exists, and replacing with IE7's own stylesheet

to the broad, XML.com/OReillynet audience.
I'll ping back this list when its ready.

My feeds contain a
generic xml-stylesheet, which formats the feed for display along with a
feed-specific css. Since xsl processors do not have a standard way to pass
parameters to xsl stylesheets, I provide this feed-specific css to the xsl
processor in the feed as a link with rel="styleshe
I'm using the
feedvalidtor.org to validate a feed with entries containing atom:updated that
may have the same datetime, although different atom:id. The validator complains
that two entries cannot have the same value for atom:updated. I generate these

Thanks for your thoughtful analysis on the update issue.
I just want to follow up with reader implementers the importance of
supporting the Atom update mechanism. News is one large application of a
feed, but there are potentially many others in which the update mechanism is
a requirement.

I'm looking for info about what
the expected 'updated' datetime element semantics look like, and haven't
found anything in old email and the wiki on this topic. Is there a description
somewhere? RSSBandit and FeedDemon don't pick up entry changes based on my
