Re: echo location?
Re: echo location? hi afrim,While it is true that echolocation is extremely useful and can let you build a mental map of an area, it is not equivalent to sight. No sense can truely be equivalent to another sense. And also, there are other factors that might make it impossible or hard
Re: echo location?
Re: echo location? The first time I noticed this was walking down a street clicking my cane on the sidewalk. It was a telephone pole. Even inside a house, our shoes ore even bare feet make a quiet sound that bounces off walls. Our ears can detect the difference of a sound below us rather

Re: echo location? Hi. I can imagine for those who have no sight at all it would be easier at night as the sound in some areas is indeed clearer, however like cinnamon I find it more difficult sometimes. I think this is because I have pretty good light perception, and therefore when its
Re: echo location?
Re: echo location? Does anyone else find it harder to use passive echolocation at night? I dont know if its a difference in the air quality changing sound, or if Im passively using light perception I dont even know about, maybe it has to do with having vision until age eleven

echo location?
echo location? Has anyone else relyably done this? I can avoid pillars, walls, doors etc. I can also distinguish open doors from closed ones. Has anyone else done this (if yes, do you have any tips?). I dont do it with clicking or any other stuff, I just use my environmental sound. URL
Re: echo location?
Re: echo location? hi,I used to be extremely good at this when I was a kid. However, my tinnitus alters my perseption of sound in a way in which the information I gain from echolocation is rather limited. Also, my hearing is in the limit of the normal range apparently which might have
