Re: keynote gold multimedia multilingual tts source code?
Yeah. The eloquence running on such an inferior device, just wasn't gonna work. Keynote gold, especially at lower pitches, can actually sound quite human-like once you get used to it.

Re: keynote gold multimedia multilingual tts source code?
It probably would, yeah. And it was a pretty poor job compared to Keynote. I always switched back to Keynote, despite its much more subtle pronunciation and inflection. Really, Keynote is amazing; it's the only synth that let
Re: keynote gold multimedia multilingual tts source code?
The problem with eloquence is it is a resource-heavy synth for that system running windows cd, and not enough ram and cpu memory. Dectalk would've been a better route.

Re: keynote gold multimedia multilingual tts source code?
The remote synth is not like having the real thing. Specifically, every new command or input causes the TTS to chop horribly before speaking. And when you disconnect, the voice parameters remain in effect, even when using the
Re: keynote gold multimedia multilingual tts source code?
That is what I've been trying to do for the last 2 or 3 years. My two previous attempts of getting a humanware notetaker failed, and I have never seen a Keynote SA sold anywhere.

Re: keynote gold multimedia multilingual tts source code?
Very few people these days use external synthesizers. I'm probably one of the few who do. I'm guessing HumanWare thought it wasn't really worth it to keep that around. It saves memory, I guess. What do you mean with
Re: keynote gold multimedia multilingual tts source code?
I've contacted support time and again for it, but maybe we all should. There are times, like soundcard replacement, where a hardware synth is a necessity. You can't get the realtime feedback needed, even with a braille dis
Re: keynote gold multimedia multilingual tts source code?
I think it was simply a feature removal. Somebody somewhere at Humanware was unhappy with passing serial coms through to a software implementation of the SA, and to be honest it was quite laggy and buggy anyway. And then there was
Re: keynote gold multimedia multilingual tts source code?

Re: keynote gold multimedia multilingual tts source code?
I'm a fan of Keynote, too--it's right up there with Eloquence and Orpheus I and above DECTalk and eSpeak. I still listen to it every day, on my BrailleNote Apex. The Apex, sadly, no longer supports remote Keynote SA emu

Guillem, the free version of dectalk around was for jaws. That still works on versions of to 10.0, as well as demos, without the authorization diskette. The dectalk.dll could've been very easily stripped out of that f
Re: keynote gold multimedia multilingual tts source code?
