So the T-Amp I've been using in my studio/DJ rig just blew up taking
with it the PSU (which cost more than the amp) and the left output
channel of my mixer (which cost a LOT more than the amp). I am,
needless to say, a little pissed. Anyway - I need a new amp. Something
fairly cheap ($200),

One last question about jriver(and an apology to audiophiles as this
posting has morphed into a ripping/transcoding question): I notice
when transferring to the ipod from flac, the file sizes were larger
than I expected. Has anyone done a comparison in file size between
ripping in aac or mpc at

Thanks! I looked at a bunch of amps aimed at studio use but (like the
Behringer) they're all rack mount and I don't have enough space for 19
width right now. That's why I liked the T-amp, it's tiny.

haven't measured exactly because even on my ipod i transcode to a
highish bit rate but i cant say ive noticed a giant difference - maybe
your bit rate is more than 128?

Seems to reasonably echo the experience of some of us. The SB3 sounds
excellent out of it's own DACs, and even better driving my Audio Note
and Ack!
It's just really cool that JA is paying attention to the convergence
market of digital music with high-end audio. The handwriting's on the
wall
