A lot of high end companies are now implementing a lot of the same

I use the word clock feature of the Transporter : a specific wordclock
device feeds the Transporter (used as transport) and an external DAC.
Don't know if yo can use it to sync the Transporter's DAC with an
external transport.

Many thanks for the comments. I agree that upsampling may degrade CD
quality. I was experimenting with changing formats to see if it can be
done, how the SB3 would handle it that is, its effects on output. But I
am totally baffled as to why I cannot convert a simple wav file (ripped
or otherwise)
Hi all
Has anyone used this or got a view? I have a chance to get one but I
can't find much on the web.

Do you know of any other program(s) that might work and could at least

I have used sox (sox.sourceforge.net) on Linux to successfully resample
files. Windows downloads seem to be also available.
Use polyphase if changing sample
Thanks DK,
I have done some web surfing , but hadn't found those two!

Cheers for the good advice advice. I have a Shek d1 at the moment and I
feel it lacks punch/drive compared to my cd player. My favourite tracks
which give me goose bumps on the cd player fail to do so with the Shek.
Do you have any opinions on later DAC's?

I would think that a major use for word clock would be when the
Transporter's internal DAC is NOT being used, so that it's digital
output may be synchonized with other digital audio devices or house
clock. Word clock I/O is often found on professional equipment, and I
guess since Slim included
I have actually sold the cd player and gone FLAC SB Shek. The sound
is good, good detail and imagery but as I say I miss my goose bumps!
FYI I use a Rotel Kandy MKIII and Dynaudio 52's

I believe the standard response here would go something like A lot of
improvements have been made in the last 8 years since the DAC Zero was
introduced. It was an inexpensive DAC in its day so you may have
potentially better results with a modern inexpensive DAC.
That said, I have used the DAC

Not really. It's to try and help people understand that it's far too
easy to convince yourself of things that simply are not true. We're all
