Hi All, just installed my TP and so far am totally knocked out by it -
one thing I've noticed is that occasionally it emits a clunking noise
when using the remote( a bit like a floppy disk drive reading a disk ,
but not as loud ) is this normal ?

Normal. This is the knob in a degauss cycle (the knob is magnetic).
Later firmware versions didn't do this quite as much, so be sure to
keep SlimServer current in order to get the latest firmware version.

So did the owner of the Sirius sell his Nordost cables post the test?

I'm looking to build an SB3 based system for my living room (so
aesthetics are a consideration, and I already have an SB3 connected to
my TAGMcLaren DAC and BW 805's in my listening room, so this is not my
primary system).
The question I have is: Would I be better off (in terms of sound
What does any of that have to do with the Randi challenge? A bunch of
guys got together and did some listening tests. We do it all the time
but don't equate it to the rigorous protocols involved in double-blind
testing in a controlled environment.

Sometimes jiggling the knob helps.
I hope that next Transporter won't have anything on it's front mask.
Who uses that anyway, it's just for show off.

After we finished the test, for curiosity we cut the ends of 16 gauge
extension cords, and connected them to the system. We did this sighted.
And the system sounded absolutely fantastic. The result I came away with
through the whole experience is that people should generally not fret
about

Well we've proved that such a system is so good that it can get a great
sound through any cables. Plus, that room looks pretty acoustically
active, a DAB radio would probably sound good ;)

Those guys spend god knows how much money on all their gear. yet
they have a trully horrible website that is straight out of 1995!!!
Why do these people always have crap websites?

Probably because their customers are marketing sponges and will believe
anything they hear - they don't need a fancy website.

Well, in fairness I'm not sure it's exactly his website.
Try this one:

Transporter does not properly support 88.2. Currently if you are

What he said. I bought some Sonus Faber speakers, because I thought they
looked good, nice furniture finish, lots of wood, etc. without approval.
I still had to sleep in the tub. Get approval first.
