Did you ever listen to an XRCD? They are mastered completely different
than the original relreases.
This less jitter and better bit truncating thing is most likely only
marketing hype subscriping a special way of resampling and dither.

Hi,
my plan is to make the kitchen our third Squeeze-enabled room. I'm
planning on buying a set of Audioengine A2. I was wondering if anyone
could recommend a matching FM radio receiver? (I'm in the UK) ie
something tiny that could be tucked away somewhere.
Yes I really want an FM radio over
An alternative would be add FM capability to the PC running SC and route
radio through the SC.
Users have used TV Tuner cards or Griffin Radio Shark to do this.

Hi!
I have a Naim Nait 5i amplifier and a new Squeezebox Duet. Can I
controll my amplifier with volume buttons of squeezebox controller (via
ir)? I have never used the volume control on my squeezebox (it's always
on 100%), and I don't want to use another (amplifier) controller.
Thanks for the
And later? It has IR. I think, it would be a very useful feature.

I think it's safe to assume it will come along at some point, lots of
people have been talking about it.

Why not just use the SB for radio? Most commercial stations have an
online stream.

We often use the FM receiver in our main amp in the living room so I
want FM in the kitchen to 'sync' with it the old fashioned way.
It's not going to be as easy as I thought, I'll need to get an aerial
feed to it from the roof's aerial distribution amplifier and that's
not funny when you've

You say you always have the Squeezebox volume at 100%. You probably do

Short answer - because the SB upsamples to 24-bit before the volume
control

Another good thread is the one you can find by searching for ' the you

That one is actually very interesting, and I hadn't seen it before. The
effect on SNR isn't something I had considered as being as significant
as it clearly is, being focused on the digital domain rather than the
output from the DAC.

Anybody compared the performance of the new Olive networkable units with
SB3 or Transporter? What DAC is in the Opus compared to the Transporter?
I had an older Olive Symphony that I really liked but SB3 was just so
much easier and more convenient to use I sold it the Symphony. Seems

I currently have a Squeezebox connected to a Rotel RX-1052 Receiver in

analog cables to the Video 1 input.
It sounds very good. But of course, you have to have good quality rips
of your CDs. 320 kbps
What about the volume control from a Transporter. Does anybody have the
ir codes for the Nait 5i? Are they similar to anything from another
manufacturer?
Thanks

Wishing to upgrade from SB3 to Transporter i have looked around various
sites for a price...here in UK the retail is about £1250+.
Slim Devices advertise it for $1999.
now, i am a very keen audiophile BUT i'm damned if i am going to pay
£1000 + for the Transporter here in ripoff Britain!.
BPA,have a look at the TIVOLI Audio mk1 by Henry Kloss.
i have one here as my bedside radio and can thoroughly recommend it.
you could connect a SB3 to the input on the rear and utilise the superb
wee built in speaker of the Tivoli.
just my tuppence worth!.
cheers

Yes, or the Tivoli iPal. That would work in a kitchen environment.
