Bear in mind that you will never hear the full benefits of a 24 bit
recording as thermal noise in components will decrease the resolution
to about 21 bits anyway. If you have digital in the 24 bit domain , you
will hear almost no ill effects by implementing digital attenuatiuon 1f

I think the transporter is far less versatile than a SB/Duet + DAC. I
and others find the DACS in the tranporter to be very amusical and
sterile...I thinkl the term "miracle" dac is a misnomer.

Hi - first time poster.
I'm trying to decide whether to buy a transporter or a boulder modded
duet with a monarchy audio nm24 dac. The transporter, with its top
notch looks and sound was my immediate first choice... but the duet /
monarchy combo gives me a great dac, pre-amp and headphone amp to
Does anyone with both a classic and the Duet Receiver can tell me if he
could tell the difference between the DAC, the Classic seem to have
slightly better spec, but in the end, which one sounds better?
Thanks

Hi,
I know there's been a large number of threads on the volume control
thing. *part* of the argument for, is that there is headroom for
performing volume control in a 24bit system with 16bit recordings
without loosing resolution, (not e.g. snr or dnr).
But how are things with 24bit recordings?

New music is based on the date modified. If you have albums with date
modified newer than this, it'll get pushed back, and if you have enough
newer albums it won't make the list - the list length is s
As far as I know this can only be done in the Web interface, not via the
transporter (or SBC). Correct me if I'm wrong.
