Yup. I just noticed it when I went up to 51 from 44... So I'll try 48
now... ;)

Not only the quantity but the quality also. Changing the jive_asla to 55
i.e. higher than the SPDIF, seems to bring the balance back but I found
it just sounds wrong in my system so I've changed it back and dropped
to 44.
Do you find that 41 makes enough difference to be worthwhile over the
Looking to do EQ (NOT DRC) with a Touch system with SBS on a Vortexbox

Have read that BruteFIR can do the trick, but that it won't work with
the Touch interface. Can it be controlled through the browser interface
for SBS?
Or can Inguz be installed on Linux/Vortexbox? I'm reading

The review says it's not as good as a Dacmagic, so it can't be very
good!

Setting jive_alsa to 55 enhances the entire sound stage, in my system it
is a welcome change. Increasing SPDIF priority is what changes the
equation of the music. It enhances certain high frequencies, thereby
creating a sense of spaciality and darker background. But as you listen

Is anyone with a Benchmark or Lavry DAC able to test these mods?
Do you mean a properly designed one with competently executed jitter
rejection?

YES...
If these DAC's demonstrate the phenomena of their sound changing
according to these mods, I'm pretty sure I know what is causing it. If
owners of these DAC's do hear differences, I'd
have had my Touch for two days now, not running it continously but it is
always on.
It feel it is quite harsh and hard sounding compared to my Duet and
record player (of course).
Any experience with this?

I have a Benchmark. I thought about trying these mods and heard a huge
difference so didn't bother.

In my experience, Touch did not need any burn-in. But it does

BTW, I checked both with SPDIF out to my Anthem-pre directly and also
with DACMagic in between, both exhibit similar behavior.

I though all you guys would get a kick out of this. We have been testing
VortexBox player running on a Sonore VortexBox with 24/384 music using a
MSB Signature DAC, which supports 24/384 via USB. It seems to be working
well.

Same here :(
I've checked the code manually by entering them at the command line and
it works.
i.e.
jalsa1=`ps -eo pid,args|grep jive_alsa -d default|head -1|cut -f3 -d
`
chrt -f -p 55 $jalsa1
BUT - when included in the rcS script it doesn't work.
