Yepseems as if Klaus has hit the sweet spot with both mcr's and my
systems. After two days and many hours of listening, mcr ain't just
whistlin' Dixie---at least with my combo of electronics. Pretty much
everything mcr said mirrors my experience. Wide, deep soundstage,

Sorry for being dense, can someone explain to me exactly what line(s) in
the code in which file can/need to be changed here?
And if I used V 3.0 to enable digital out only is there any reason to
alter this priority at all?

Hi Klaus,
Great thanks for TT 3.0. I upgraded yesterday from 2.0 and priority
tweaks.
It was to late yesterday to make some extended tests, but i think that
TT 3.0 sounds better than 2.0.
I have few questions and wishes :)
Would it be possible to add a tool for spdif priority ?

Hi sckramer. I mean maxed out at 5, sorry for any ambiguity.

I'm using the full update except: screen is on. Digital out only.
I actually use the SBT screen as touch screen controller. Since I
installed 3.0, I've noticed the screen is a little jumpy to the touch -

Thx for your feedback so far. Just to say it again.
It's good to get that feedback, which obviously covers the full
dynamic range. ;)
It's interesting to see that some people feel to get used to it first.
@magiccarpetride
you're a talented pretty enjoyable writer. Thx a lot. ;)

Switching on the new vollock (not on by default) definitely makes it
sound more relaxed and neutral. Another one to try.

In fact you should make that one 'on' by default, it sounds as though
every thing else is voiced to having it on. Seems to flesh out the
midrange.

It's too dangerous to have it on by default.
Some people might use the SW volume control only with direct amp
access.
In this case you'd blow your speakers and potentially ears.
It just takes 30s to turn it on.
If you have a vollock ssh macro defined it's a no-brainer.

First impression of SPDIF @ prio 51 doesn't convince us over here.
For now I leave TT3.0 as it is. No reason to get nervous about
priorities.
Of course I'll follow up further constructive ideas.
Higher buffers won't work out either. The low-end seems to lose
precision.

Get your point about switching vollock lock to on. For me it's become
mandatory part of tt3
Before I tried it I was using spdif priority of 80 (up from 51) and it
was definitely smoother on the top end, BUT now with vollock on it
makes little difference.
As you say it's very handy being able to

Klaus,
I looked through the tt3 script a little... I saw the prio() function
to set priorities, and you have a undoc'd cmd line switch tt -z that
calls prio()
-- but where in the script are you executing prio()? it's was not
obvious to me --
Thanks!

Ok, testing it and YES: the sound stage is defenitely wider and deeper.
Also the bass is deep and is better controlled then without the DAC.
Transparency and Details have increased tremedously, however, the
downturn is, that it comes with more treble emphasis.
Now I understand the words of the

EDIT: Yes, of course I did get around to it by temporarily hooking up
via Ethernet and using the individual commands to enable/disable etc.
I got a new(ish) SB3 to replace my old one (buh bye old friend) so...I
needed a new DAC. Last one was a Beresford TC-7520. Went out on a
limb and ordered the spanking new Schiit Bifrost
