I tried a tube buffer in my system, and it made mp3s sound much better -
more like music that hasn't been compressed. You can get a decent tube
buffer for $150-$200. I think if you listen to mp3's that would be a
more cost effective use of your money.

A few years ago I replaced the capacitors on an old pair of JBL L26s. It
was a noticeable difference in the sound. The recap opened up the sound,
most noticeably in the high end, and improved the spaciousness in the
'sound stage'. Total cost was under $20.

I randomly lose my sbt player from the media server on my pc.
I have soundcheck 3.0 in use with all mods on. Except using WLAN.
Well and logitech defaults currently. Ermm and buffer 2 :-)
To be able to find player again and select / play music from the media
server I have to re-enable
1) yes, an SB Controller can control a Touch, or any other Squeezebox
model, including software players such as SqueezePlay, SoftSqueeze, and
squeezeslave
2) no, using an SB Controller won't solve your disconnection problems.

BBC iPlayer.
