significant
detraction of the Squeezebox is the lack of ability to play
DRM-protected songs. The server is not at all a disadvantage. Many
of us would consider it a huge advantage since features and plugins
are easily added at any time, by a large community of programmers.

change would have been undetectable...wouldn't you piss off the
purist customers?
Not to mention the other standards (e.g. DD DTS), upon which I am not
aware of the implications (but _they_ should be).
So back to the question. Is there some other reason?

You might also check to see if this appears on more than one
squeezebox. Maybe you got a bad one.
