used to own a Perpetual Technologies upsampler box and the Chesky 96/24 DVDs of the day had much better SQ than the upsampled Redbook CDs. Sending an upsampled stream to a 192/24 DAC should produce a similar disparity compared to sending it an actual 192/24 recording. -- DotSystem

An analog attentuator would not be a bad idea. The Transporter's digital attentuator will lose resolution as it is lowered. With an analog attentuator, you can set the Transporter attentuator to allow full output. The analog attentuator should not degrade at lower volume settings. -- DotSystem
