there should be no difference in
sound quality, however EAC seems to be better at ripping damaged CDs so
that could in theory produce a better sounding rip.
WAV files do not support tags, which is why you don't see any song
info. FLAC is probably your best bet (as has already been said).

music side of things - so maybe it's as easy as writing another skin.
How about a button at the top of the SS interface to switch between
normal (for purely browsing and playing) and advanced (for config)
skins and an option to set one of those as the default?

undergoes slightly more processing in that it
has to be decompressed, but in my eyes ordinary WAV files still need to
be processed.
At the end of the day, lossless is lossless, no matter what the
format.

that would be is unanswered. Also, if the effect exists, it is
possible it is software version dependent. BTW, someone earlier
reported a sucessful blind test for identifying FLAC vs. WAV.
Interesting. Could this be something to do with ReplayGain processing?
