Might it be an idea to run TWO identical USB cables between the pi and
the DAC and send an inverted digital signal along one of them so that a
differential path like with XLR could be recreated? The pi has multiple
USB sockets and there must be DACs with more than one, no? If not,
there's surely

People wonder if the USB cable quality between their streamer (pi) and
DAC makes a difference.
Do those people also wonder if the USB cable connecting an external HDD
hosting their music library could/would make a difference?
