i could not tell the difference between my 47 labs shigaraki transport
and my unmodded SB3 when connected to a 47 labs shigaraki dac. i have
since sold the transport and now use my SB3 and 47 labs dac. hopefully,
i can buy a transporter this summer and AB the two.

I run both my SB Duet and my SAT CD player through a benchmark audio
DAC1 and can't differentiate between the two sources. Before adding in
the DAC, my CD player was a clear notch above the Duet although that is
not surprising given it cost about eight times as much.

The error counter is kinda funny most cd's it's on zero all the time,
but I tried a very old burned CD-R it was up to 1 errors when the

I was going to start a similar thread last week after listening a few
hours to my new SB3.
Listening to SB3 digital out to my DAC, I was very disappointed and
confused with the sound. It seemed as though I had lost all imaging
and soundstaging, compared to other listening sessions with my other

On a side note: did you upgrade from Slimserver 7.3 to 7.3.1 between
non-musical and musical? There have been many reports of 7.3.0
sounding worse than predecessors.

I do too. SB3 into DacMagic is different that CA 640C into the same
DacMagic. Puzzling...

Ditto here... I've compared an SB3, Duet and Transporter against my
Oracle CD transport. Nothing beats the Oracle but the Transporter
comes close with Duet and SB3 lagging. Still, I bought the Duet
because of the convenience factor and very slick Controller and use it
for everything except
