Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Does "gain value" in Inguz effect bits the same as using digital volume?

Inguz "should" maximise the gain without clipping. However, to check the gain level is right play some test tones and check the Inguz log. Peak db is shown after each track plays in full. Obviously, for a 0db test tone this should not be more than 0db, for a -20db test tone this should not exceed

Erik, It will certainly have a similar impact - any gain reduction in the digital domain can only be achieved by reducing the bitstream sample value and so the bitstream is no longer a "bit perfect" rendition of the original material. This will reduce the Signal/noise ratio slightly. All digital

Hello, been reading these forums for a long time and really appreciate all the valuable info to be found. So thanks to all the helpful regular posters. Can anyone inform me if the default "gain" value in Inguz which is -16db effects the bits in the same way as when the digital volume is used. And
