Mentioning just in case, don't forget to disable Replaygain, it was too
silent for me too even with the preamp (RG at default 89dB).

This poor little beginner level audiophile named discocarp is at the

The input sensitivity on the Krell amp is 2.33Vrms (and gain of 25db),
so it does appear that the 2 Vrms isn't quite enough...

I've been running my Transporter directly into a Bryston 4B ST

Honestly, this volume is more than acceptable. I think I more want to
make sure I understand what's happening. The explanations about the pre

And, yes, now that I know I don't need the attenation I'll be switching

2 Vrms is all she does. If you want more you need a preamp, or you might
pop the cover on your amp and see if its gain can be adjusted.

I think the input sensitivity on the Krell amp wants a higher voltage to
get to max output (in other words, it probably wants the gain offered by
using a preamp)...

Setup is direct to amp. Transporter->Krell Kav 2250->Martin Logan

I tried the attenuation, and have settled on NO attenuation. It still
doesn't seem loud enough to me. It gets louder than I'm likely to play
it 99% of the time. However, the yamaha receiver could play these
speakers louder
