These are similar how Meridian speakers are setup.
However they are missing a means of controlling the gain on the preamp
with in them. You'll have to use digital attenuation which is not good
on the digial inputs.
And I suspect the analog inputs may have A to D converters on them.
With Meridia
Interesting looking speakers, I'm sure some will love the true dual mono
approach of each speaker having it's own DAC, and using a SPDIF thru
connection! There's more details on the manufactures site:

Probably the price comes from the fact that they're considered as
"studio monitors", given the claimed ±1.5 dB, 58 Hz to 20 kHz frequency
response.
(also because of the XLR digital/analog inputs and the claimed HQ dac)

SB3 - North Star dac 192 - Denon 3808 - Sonus Faber Grand Piano D
I just noticed an Internet dealer carrying this:
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=33707&vpn=BLOW5D-US&manufacture=Infrasonic&promoid=1034
Kinda pricey for their size but unusual in that they have AES/EBU
inputs?
Any opinions?
I'm not considering them, I'm just curious.
