My wife used to make her desire for attention known by sitting next to
me on the couch and subtly jabbing her elbow or knee into me. It took
me a couple years but I finally wised up and got rid of the couch. Now
all we have are chairs. No more pain...

Just after installing my new Transporter the wife walked into the room,
looked at the rack and said Ooh, you've bought a karioke machine.
That's the furthest her interest in hifi has got.

my wife doesn't understand how putting a speaker behind a couch or
having the arm of the couch blocking part of a speaker can compromise
the sound. or why i 'HAVE' to place the speakers where i want them to

Anyone else have a spouse that doesnt understand that music is far

Here in the UK, a boob tube is an item of ladies' clothing.
And I can assure you that, on the right lady, it is far more

When I got my new speakers off ebay, unwrapped them and plugged them in,
my wife's response was and you got them for under £800? Cool!
The old girlfriends gently tolerated the music and the hifi, but I knew
which one to marry :)

SB3 into Derek Shek d2, Shanling CDT-100,
My wife really did get what I was on about when I was researching the
Squeezebox (you know, ripping music to FLAC, tagging it all, playing
with SlimServer etc). Just looked to the ceiling, and said boys
toys...
When I finally got the squeezebox and got it all working, she was
converted.

My wife told me - forced me! - to buy an Aktiv IsoBarik system in 1987 -
it ruined my bank account but she said she could never listen to

These days she loves the Squeezebox!
My oh my, how the times have changed...

That's quite true. Again, it isn't a rule...but we just spent a week

Always hankered after a pair of panel speakers ever since hearing
Maggies years back. Finally bought a pair of Audiostats plugged in
in place of SBLs. Got v cool reception from wife on looks size

It's strange, but there's evidence to show that women have a better

You'd think they'd be able to appreciate the more esoteric audiophile

Ah, she likes to listen to some nice music when having dinner or taking a
bath. Quiet stuff, like Simon and Garfunkel, Andrea Bocelli, Bee Gees
sometimes
And she's OK with me putting up some room acoustic treatment stuff in the
living room, so how good can it get, really... :-)
