Thanks for the suggestion.
So if I understand correctly volume control on the SB3 is digital only,
meaning there is a fixed analog gain applied to a modulated digital
source (out of the DAC) and for that reason any gain lower than 100%
will result in quantization
I have been listening to a squeezebox connected to Audio Analogue
monoblocks for the last 6 months. Because of the high sensitivity of my
speakers (93dB JM Lab Electra 906), I had to place 10 dB attenuators
(GoldenJacks) at the inputs of the power amps. What I get is great
sound with minimal
I, and at least 3 of my customers, have been running an SB (SB+)
directly into a power amp for over a year now. The power amp has 6dB
less gain than nominal. No problems to report.

Do the opposite of what you were planning and you should be fine.
I.e. reduce the integrated's volume so

Hi DeWayne,
Skunk nailed it. Set the volume of the SB at it's upper limit so it
plays at it's full
Thank You, That is how I have been doing it but after I read the
previous posts I thought you were suggesting the opposite. I will keep
things the same.
Thanks again,

tried the integrated version of the same amp, the sound became
outstanding.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi,

Some people say that an attenuator is needed for when the SB goes crazy
