Hi, I use the analogue outputs as at present none of my amps are
blessed with digital inputs. I either drive the Transporter into a

Hi there,
New to this forum and as a new owner of a SlimDevices product I can
only say that for almos $2000 for the Transporter you would it to
deliver and it does.
I have mine hooked up to a Krell KAV-400xi by a pair of expensive
balanced kables. The Krell is then pumping a pair of Von
Well I've had my Transporter for a few weeks now and I have had chance
to hook it up to various bits and pieces and to have put it through its
paces.
Firstly the sound:
Clear crisp and although Im 50 very pleasant to the ear. Compared to
the Slim3 it is without doubt Hi Hi-Fi. Ive have three

Well, I just got my Transporter today and hooked it up.
I'm using the analog outputs from the Transporter into my Arcam Alpha
10 integrated amp, from there into an Alpha 10 power amp, and then into
a set of Madisound Cygnets.
Not exactly the high end setup that many here have, but it's paid
Here is a slightly amended version of a post I made elsewhere...
My existing system consists of an Audio Synthesis CD transport and DAC,
a Jadis Orchestra integrated tube amp, Sonus Faber Elector Amator II
speakers on Partington stands, and some serious TEAC cabling. I listen
to FLAC files
Nice post.
Remember, the two best ways to listen to stereo, assuming your living
environment will allow it, are:
1. On-axis, in a equilateral triangle. The speakers are X feet apart.
You are the same X feet from each speaker. On-axis means they are
pointed at your ears.

Ahem, well, by default and need for WAF, that's exactly how I do it.
The near field thing is great, to be sure, but is simply not practical
with an actual living room.

I agree that the spatial relationship between the listener and the
speakers is really important. But my recent experience with the
Transporter has demonstrated to me very clearly that this is not
necessarily the most critical thing (unless, maybe, you are listening
in an anechoic chamber).

Oh noes! I forgot the most important part of the review: the

Often the best way is to see how many turn up on ebay. I looked for a

The fact that not many people are selling them is a good indicator.
We'll see if any Transporters turn up!

I doubt that Slim will be seeing any under that guarantee either.

replacing).
I plugged the SB3 into tape 1 and

By the way, that's where I got my forum avatar. I love it--I work in pro
audio, and I wish there was a 'loudness' button on the big stuff!

Wait, no, that's wrong. TP seems a little louder. Mids are clearer and

How many new Transporter owners do you think are willing to stick their
necks out and give you their honest opinion when:
- They've only had the thing a week.
- They may not have the words or experience to describe what they're
hearing.
and/or, most importantly,
- If they don't think it's as
Nobody's got anything to say about the sound quality of their
Transporter? I know there are a few comments sprinkled about in other
threads, but it would be useful to consolidate owners' opinions on the
sound into one place. Why not here?
