I don't quite understand the TP's jitter rejection scheme. However, it
is obviously so good, and the analog output so good, that it doesn't
matter. I definitely prefer the all-in-one-box solution...and I was
prepared to prefer the two box solution and see the
Radiohead White Stripes sounding good ist exactly what I needed to
know. It's important that not only hi-end bing-bang jazz works with
these dacs, but also real down to earth good music.
Thanks!

I think it is a great idea. The Lavry handles jitter by buffering and
re-clocking the signal. The end result is that everything sounds the
same through it -- inexpensive dvd/cd players, expensive cd players, a
SB3, and the Transporter.
The Transporter seems to work easily well, although I
Have you noticed any differences in how the Lavry or TP handle bad or
noisy recordings or even lossy files like MP3? Is Hard Rock equally
enjoyable as Jazz?

Topa,
If you would regard vintage and poorly digitized classical recordings
as noisy, then, yes, I've heard them through the Lavry and TP. They
sound about the same. I don't really listen to hard rock -- at least
not very much. My general experience, though is that a lot of
audiophile quality

Can anyone think of a good reason why a Transporter would not work with

with other DACs). However, I decided to try it out with the

Sounds like you were playing DTS or AC3. Transporter's DAC will only
play 2 channel audio, and I would expect a Lavry or any other 2ch DAC
to be the same. Try it with a CD instead of a movie.
Another thing to do is to go into the setup menu of your DVD player and

Phil and Sean -- good ideas, I'll check into them ASAP.
Otherwise, I haven't had a hiccup -- it's a wonderful device.

Relax. It's about the music.

A CD works just fine. So, you're right -- must be the DTS/Dolby stuff.
Anyway to change this via firmware? IE, so that it could deal with it,
like some others? That would be great.

seamless integration. I'm not a designer, though.
