FW40 provided the loop capability. I've been using it without any
problems. Others have had some issues which have been confirmed as
bugs.
FW42 is now available which addresses some of the issues found in
FW40.
I can confirm that FW42 solved the problems of FW40 for me.

I can tell you this however, I think it's a better idea to go for the
SB and an external DAC unless you need the transporters features as
imho , its dac is very cold

Seems fw42 also has issues.
I have another problem with my Xporter too , the tactile knob that was
broken from day 1 and now my right dispay has lost the top half of
itself. Sheesh...maybe mine is also broken sonically ...
