The pkgver should not contain any arch-specific information. If you look
at the manual page, the pkgver is soleley for the upstream version, the
pkgrel is for Arch releases, rebuilds or changes.
Just my 2 cents.
Thank you for listening

Hello,
Do you have plans
All,
So I'm terrible at sending emails it would seem, and I need to get
everyone on the same page. The class is taking place on Saturday,
September the 14th, 2013, at 1700 UTC.
See the previous email for information about the class itself.

All,
Just wondering where the signoff reports for the [community-testing]
repo went? I've noticed that for a few days I've been getting most
aur-general emails, but no signoff reports.
Thanks,

Did any of you read my email? Getting a shallow clone is simply not
possible, unless you want to continue to write this boilerplate code.
These large transactions are a one-time action, and I see no harm.

I have tested this out on many repos (including the linux git

Okay, I take that back. The clones are significantly smaller[0], but at the
same time, I will argue that these git
copy for the build.
This is also true. makepkg clones a bare repository to the SRCDEST
directory. If this is a shallow bare repo, then clones cannot be made of
it which is what makepkg does.

You are also only supposed to use ${foo} when it helps make updating
easier. This could easily work against that. Just make it a number, or
have a _pkgver variable that you use in the URL if you need that.
