Failure to display an ASIC when required was $550 fine back in 2005,
don't know what it is now.
Can't recall off the top of my head but are there clubs in Australia
that share ops with RPT, so an ASIC is required, or have these clubs
successfully managed a procedure to avoid ASIC requirements?

Possibly because the british had so many grassed fields and gabled markers
were the only way you could identify the runway from ground level.

We had dealings with such a firm. They 'ceased trading' but in the meantime had
sold vouchers to the masses who understandably turned up expecting to fly.
We did not receive any payment for the flights, which we honoured for good

I like the words of Norm Sanders to "seek forgiveness" rather than
"ask permission." After the third glider hit a gable marker (British
invention) he removed them and replaced them with white FLAT (USA
style) markers
I had a conversation with Norm about this at Temora some years ago.

Bill,
You will find that the secure area is defined. At some airports it is
the RPT apron, at others it is the entire airport inside the fence.
In Toowoomba it is the entire airport and there is a council person
monitoring. She used to be a receptionist at the aero club about 15
years ago fo
Hi folks
The weather over the weekend will depend entirely on what TC Ului does.
The BoM is forecasting it to cross the coast about Proserpine (between
Mackay and Townsville) on Sunday night/Saturday morning, but the NOAA
data suggests a more southerly crossing (about Shoalwater bay). I'll

Hi Stuart, so what happens if you're caught at Merimbula (or any other
"security ad") without an ASIC? Has anyone experienced this & been fined? I
read the OAPA article also & it seemed to me that as long as you don't try
to enter or leave airside via the RPT Terminal, you can argue you're not in

Your lucky - through Canberra Airport we only get a 22 month renewal, not
sure why and because the boss pays I do not ask to many questions. The same
level of security and checks as required for the Marine equivalent called
the MSIC (blue in color) which is valid for 5 years - does that make sense
Ian,
I agree with about 95% of what you are saying here, but a letter to the Poli's
to get them to think again? You must be joking! I bet most of them haven't
thought about it at all!
"No Red Card for me" but I trust you will "keep the Red Flag flying"??

Great!
Laurie and I are heading to Hervey Bay tomorrow, through to Sunday.. :-( :-(
I guess a trip to Fraser Island is out!!
