heritage issues. It may-be that those can be brought to bear so that the
Highway misses the strip altogether.
The prospect of towing gliders over a dual carriageway at low altitude isn't
one that rings the safety bell
Actually, it looks as if there's going to be ashphalt right through the middle
of the club-house, not to mention the threshold of the cross-strip.
Surely there are heritage issues with Gawler airstrip that should be
considered. It is after all, a significant part of our history!

Sorry to hijack your thread (this has nothing to do with altimeters) but
I'm the owner of Auster BYH that you folks operated a few years ago.
When it was sold, the club retained the cruise prop and sold it with the
climb prop (approp for glider towing). This is a pretty long shot, b
people have
had fatigue related accidents/incidents on the drive home.
