I had the same problem.
I made the sub-bom field on the prodTableCreate
form mandatory.
That way they had to fill something in.
The consequences on my side where great,
as the report as finished would post the picking list. Hence if there was no
sub bom, no picking

I thought that you wish to make the BOM
field mandatory on sales line if a user wants to create BOM.
Now you are saying that update to
production order must check whether the BOM lines are present. Is this correct?

New in X++ development so need help on the report design in axapta.

No that is not the only way but that is
the easiest way.
Just disable the button if the BOM field
is not filled up on the sale line.
Ideal way would be to catch this error on form
‘ProdTableCreate’, it really depends on how far do you want to go.
