Currently we are using one coverage group for the production (BOM) item as well
as components. I've created now a separate group for the components and added
the 30 days re-order margin for the bom item coverage group. Quickly tested and
it seems to work. Thanks for the help!!

Do not change the standard production leadtime to 60 days, since your
production lead time is 30 days only.
Add 30 days, ( your intimation advance timeline to your sub-contractor )in the
coverage group, re-order margin for the production part.
Try now, it will work.

I think you can add Queue Time After to the production route. See Production/
Setup/ Route Groups.
