> I'm trying to put it for Apache13 now
I am not sure of the effort required here. However, are the changes
minimal? Do we have modules/classes that can be used across Apache
versions?
In other words, are these changes apache version specific?
Thanks,
Samisa...

OK, Looks like the responses are more biased towards keeping both.
One of the main reasons that I raised this was to cut down on
maintenance efforts, not only the code, but also the docs.
In some situations, such as in case of supporting attachments Rangika
seem to have to update both modules. An
Please commit the program used to test as well.
Thanks,

Me too. The 1.3 family has been well tested very
stable and widely accepted.
Also we have had problems with Apache 2.0 (even
without axis) on windows and
1.3 never troubled us.
+1 to have both.

Hi Rangika,

I have to vehemently agree .. there are many who are using 1.3 and
dropping 1.3 will cut out a significant part of the customer base!

Hi All
I am an Axis newbie.
I was going through the code to find a solution for
http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AXISCPP-634.
which basically deals with specifying attributes in the SOAP-RESPONSE.
I noticed a method SoapSerializer::serializeAsAttribute in
SoapSerializer.cpp.
I have not seen
My -1 for dropping 1.3 support.
I strongly believe, there are so many instances out there who still
depends on 1.3 server
and in need for web services to support their legacy services.
thanks

Hi Rangika,
I've fixed the ant build. mod_axis.cpp didn't compile for Apache13 because
getAllAttachments was not on ApacheTransport. So I added in a dummy method.

That one's easy... Since Axis is a relatively new
'product', it is perfectly reasonable to support only Apache 2. No one
is deploying new edge or middleware applications using Apache 1.3 ...
not for a long time.
Thanks, Ken

Hi All,
I commited attachment stuff now.
It's in the cvs head.
It's not added to the ANT build scripts.
Can anyone add them pls.I can't add because Ant is not working for me.

I've been thinking this too - we should

Hi all,
I have noticed widespread use of Apache 2.0 and the number of queries we are
getting on Apache 1.3 is near 0.
Given this, would it be a bad idea to support only Apache 2 on server side?
This will simplify the docs as well.
Thoughts please.
Thanks,

Hi John,
When I typed the following command

I got the following output in the log.

Hi All,
I tested attachments (on server side)in Windows using VC (Not using ANT
build) & it's working.
I couldn't test with the ANT build because ANT is not building
properly.
Once ANT is working I can check in Windows & Linux.Till then I'm not
committing the code since I don't know whether the
