I have never used PAF so can't really compare it to anything. I'm
thinking, though, isn't PAF no longer supported for the Mac? I thought I

nickname of some sort. According to "Dicionário Priberam da Língua
Portuguesa" (http://www.priberam.pt/), negrete also means, "negrete

FamilySearch.org site, but saw no references to it.

Like you, I'm relatively quiet in this group. However, I can answer part of
your question. PAF no longer has a Mac version. I have the last one that was
issued and I've had it since the early 1990's. I can't tell you anything about
Mac Family Tree but my cousin has recently started usin
JR it could be that he is indeed dark skin and the priest was making the
distinction. I will tag it for further research in the places you mentioned.

The "alcunha" did not carry foward to his children and it is very possible
that he was of dark skin.

Please send me the records, I could give a look and come up with something
more clear. I dont believe he would be black descendant, but I dont want to
jump conclusions without reading the records
