Al, "A History of the Azores Islands" names the only two: Jose da Costa Nunes and Humberto de Sousa Medeiros (pp. 454-455). Neither Cardinal was born on Flores or retired there. I checked the Bishops section and didn't find any in that time period either. Could this uncle have been a priest and

I was recently told by a cousin that my father who was born in New Bedford, was sent back to Flores for schooling. My cousin said that he lived with my Grandmothers uncle a Cardinal. This would have been around 1902 to 1910. Does it seem logical that a Cardinal would be living on Flores? Does

Marjorie, I live in Pleasanton and our family are members of St Augustine's Catholic Church here. Celeste is correct about the St Patrick's records . If you give me the name and date of the person born in Pleasanton, I can check the city archives in the Museum here. There is also an Alameda Co
