I have looked through Flores records for 15 years now andd have not seen
Grant or Grante surname. Where in Pico was the last record found? Perhaps
the original parish record there would state where or if the person was
from Flores.

added the Jacob to the Freitas.

name of the mother is Lucia not Maria for comparison look at the way M is

I've found a possible brother to Jose: Manuel Mariano Grante, born 11 Jan 1800
in Sao Roque, Pico. There is no further information about him, however. But,

This is what I know. Manuel and Maria Theresa Pinheiro arrived in Boston,
MA on 5 Nov 1911 aboard the Canopic. They departed St. Michaels ( I am
assuming that would be St. Michaels island). According to Maria's
naturalization papers she was born 28 NOV 1895 Funchol, Madeira, Portugal.
