I am a distant cousin of Maria Felicia do Coracao de Jesus (1826-1860 or later) and her descendants through my mother's line. I have attached a chart showing the direct ancestors in bold. My mother's ancestors are almost all from Feteira. Unfortunately, I don't have any more info than you do on

Hi Lester, Passports were required to travel (leave) the Acores. Only the ones from Sao Miguel are on line. I would not assume he left by other means It could be the name is wrong or perhaps the writing was bad and you missed it. If you found his brothers then you know the council and village

Lester, I don't know that someone else could leave under someone else's name. Only the port of Ponta Delgada on Sao Miguel is online at this time. You don't state where your ancestors were from. They could have sailed out of Angra on Terceira or out of Horta on Faial. Cheri Mello Listowner,
