Just wondering if there is an Americanized/Anglicanized version for the given name Jacinto/Jacintho? I have a great uncle who was born in Hawaii and on his birth certificate it lists his given name as Jacintho, but on other government forms they have it as Justin. Then my GG grandfather's

Paul, My grandfather, Jacintho Benevides Souza used Jesse as his anglized name. I've found that on many of his official documents.  In my neck of the woods (Fall River, MA) this seems to be the common trend but in Hawaii it could be a different story.  Perhaps it's all on how the Americans

Dano, Traced the marriage last night but the log does not state his origins, he was 19 years old. The 1920 census in my opinion is messed up for William Street. Most of the people from the Azores are being shown as originating from Cape Verde island, thus my problem as I have Ermelinda's parents
