Again, most of this is from Joao Ventura's notes. The dates are
approximate, so give or take a few years. I am not going to show samples

Thank you to infinity. After going through those records over and over for
maybe 3/4 days, I feel like this is such a blessing to be given this
information. Last night I was saddened when I concluded that I would not find

You've made my day and I thank you so much!

That is why we have this chat room--to help each other find pieces of
information we need. In my case of requesting information on a marriage
record, I was discovered by two cousins who live in the same town I live
in! Another time I was discovered by two cousins in the San Francisco
Bay area.
Carol: that is just miraculous! So glad you found cousins- yay!!
Okay, there was so much detail yu sent that I'm trying to get to the pages to
see the information so I can learn. How to use the site.I did go down to
Piedad but not sure what I should enter to get to the same info you sent.
I will try to make it a little simpler:
1) In your browser (I use Mozilla Firefox) type in www.ghp.ics.uminho-pt
then double click on search.
2) then single click on genealogias
3) then scroll down to Piedade then single click on that
4) where oit says clique aqui (click here) click on the arrow.
Hi Lee.
Your cousin's great grandfather's name was simply Ventura. I am the one
that gave you the name Boaventura some time ago, but now that we have the
benefit of his baptismal record we know that Ventura was his given name.
As I understand it, Boaventura is a more common given name because
Just as an aside, for those of you planning on attending the Salt Lake City
Conference, you might want to download these two things to your laptop.
This will help you when we go to the Library in the evening to actually try
to find your records. Even if you are not planning on going to SLC, you

Hello all,
I am curious as to the lack of parents for the Groom and lack of the
listing as Exposto. I am guessing since no Pais are listed he probably was
exposto and possibly raised in an Orphanage. Your thoughts.
Thank You.
I'm attempting to fill in the Soirce box on familysearch for information I
received from http://www.ghp.ics.uminho/ website.
I'm not sure how to document it. Is this from the university of Portugal. I'm
not sure how the GenWeb fits in.
I went to the pages in the CCA to verify one or more

Tony,I can't say yet because I haven't finished doing it myself, but the way I would tackle this problem is first find every child in their family and it was a big family, so should really help. Then based on those findings, look for Inacio before that marriage date in the records as the witness
I think Katy Perry is either 1/4 or 1/8 Portuguese and was born as a Hudson
or something. Perry is a stage name. I don't know anything of her lineage.
Maybe someone has the names of her 2 greats from Horta. I guess that would
make her 1/8 Portuguese.

For one thing, I would seriously consider getting the Y-111 DNA test, but if not that immediately get at least the Y-67 DNA test and find someone to help you figure out your Terminal SNP. That's way easier said than done (admins for R-M269 are not helpful). At least that way you will be prepared in
