Yes, that's more or less what I'm seeing. My brain takes turns between
"Brasanrigues" and "Gaspar r[odr]igues"
I think you're correct: the descending letter toward the end isn't a "g"
but a "q". It looks like the "q" in "Pacheqo" (four lines above) and not
the "g" three lines bel
NICS, If he became a citizen of the USA he would have had to apply for a
passport to travel back to the Old Country, if he did not become a citizen
you are out of luck.

I agree, the brides father is difficult...Here are the letters I see:
Bras, anriqzos...I'm sure some of these letters could be different, but,
its a starting point. I used the LDS book, "Basic Portuguese Paleography"

Hi - I'm curious if anyone knows if immigration records are available for
individuals leaving the US and going back to the Islands? I have only been
able to locate immigration records into the US. I was told my Great-Great
Grandfather left Oakland and went back to "the Islands" around 1920-1930

double check the record of the marriage of their son and compare groom's
