It looks to me like it says that Antonia Josefa was the widow [V.a] of
Manoel Machado Fonceca. See if there's a marriage in the index that would
work for that.

It says Manuel Machado Fonseca is buried (sepultado) in this church
something freguesia. I think he messed up and forgot the bride's mom. His
writing has a lot of flourishes. I blame too much vinho. And fancy
penmanship.

surprise. Perhaps she had others children before.
There is a couple José da Rocha e Maria Joaquina in S. Mateus married in

database.
Good luck

With your encouragement, I found Josefas baptismal record. The surprise? She
was 37 when she had Maria in 1810.
Her parents were Jose Simoes da Rocha (sometimes da Rocha Simoes) and Maria
Joaquina.
Again, thank you!

All I have for records for José Botelho is his marriage record:
On 6 April 1874, in São José, Ponta Delgada, São Miguel Island, José
Botelho, 32, single, seaman, legitimate son of João Botelho and Jacinta
Cândida, married to Maria Augusta, 23, single, seamstress, legitimate
daughter of Jacinto
Unfortunately the parents were not listed.
There's a possibility both may have been married before. You should check
S. Roque for the groom, since he's from that town. Unfortunately there are
no marriage records in S. Jose beyond 1630.

I checked out your website. Looks good! I notice you have Salga listed in your
research interests, that's where my mother was from.

Louro can also be the leaf from the 'loureiro' tree sued to season food.

Thank you so much, Margaret. I had seen the marriage of Maria, but I was
not sure about it because it just had Francisco de Sousa no Glz in his
name. This is for my DNA match. We have been searching so long for
Francisco and Beatriz.
I am happy, happy, happy--thank you again.

Todd, I would think it would be Lourenco Antonio & Anna Julia too. Since
they married in 1839, I would think Luis is one the last kids they had and
you'd find more before. Yes, get Luis' siblings. Your reading of the
