Manuel seems to be the child of an adulterous relationship since I cannot
see any mention of his father and this grandparents are incognito. I was
once given the tip that in some instances the father ends up being name a
godparent in order to have some spiritual responsibility for the chil

In a nut shell it means that Manuel's mother, Maria Quiteria, committed
adultery and that Manuel is the product of the affair. Her husband had been
