Sao Miguel island has no parish named Lajes. There's Lajes on Terceira
island, Pico island, and Flores island. I don't know which one has the Sao
Bras that broke off of it since it was not specified.
Sao Miguel island has a church in Vila Franca do Campo called Sao Miguel
Arcanjo. It is the

Based on your past posts, could you be seeing "Sao Miguel Arcanjo" (sometimes
spelled Archanjo). That is the parish in Lajes which included Sao Bras until
1951 when Sao Bras became a parish on its own.

The definition of archipelago (according to Merriam Webster's dictionary)
is a group of islands. So it's the archipelago of the Azores. Not the
archipelago of Sao Miguel.
You might be reading "archangel of Sao
I think it's highly likely!

Yes that was a typo ,My grandfather got married to her in the USA in 1895
so i researched for passports from St Michaels 1895 1894 and so forth until
i came upon the missing passport records where i think it would be. Then
again i was looking For Jose da Silva Margarida so what part of that
