Regarding your letter: If it doesn't ask to state your relationship to the
deceased, don't. And if it does, you can be the grandson or the
great-grandson.
The FOIA G-639 is here. I'd fill that out too: https://www.uscis.gov/g-639

The privacy laws mentioned so not apply in cases where the person listed on the
record is deceased - assuming you are able to provide a death certificate (I
can provide the consular certificates of death of an American citizen abroad)

I did not see what your relationship is to the person you are seeking a
copy of their passport.
I did a google search asking "How to obtain a copy of a US Passport issued
in 1930?" the following link says they are protected by the Privacy Act of
1974.

I booked already on Delta. I checked Southwest, and even with the senior

to pay $25 each way for baggage, lol. I feel so much better now! LOL

I just booked mine too. Delta was cheaper for me than Southwest by $20.
However, the bags are free on Southwest I think. So in the long run,
Southwest would be cheaper by $30. Unless they change the baggage rules
between then and now.

The conference dates are Tuesday, August 29 - Friday, September 1st. Most
people would need to fly in on Monday, August 28th though.

September dates and they are as low as $79 each way plus tax. I forgot the
dates of the meeting there but I know they are in this time period. I am
sure they also have great fares from you area.

There's a Groupon for $20 off of Family Finder (so $59 instead of $79 USD -
add $12.95 S). This deal is with Family Tree DNA (FTDNA).
You have to go through Groupon and not the FTDNA website. And it would be
