I believe the Azores Express operated by TAP operates the only direct
flights to the Azores from the US. I believe Boston to Sao Miguel is
operated year-round, but check the Azores Express website.

My family name is Jorge (George now) and have some ancestors from Flores,
but they left Flores for Faial around 1720s as near I can tell. But,
perhaps we are distantly related further back along the line (a good chance

Does anyone have a good book on the history of the Azores that they could
recommend? I haven't been able to find anything on Amazon that looks like
it would be worth purchasing. Also, has anyone read Saudades da Terra, and
if so was it good and is there an English translation?

this genealogy in advance of a trip to the Azores to take me dad to see
