The family plot thickens for you. In the obito of Isabel da Costa, it says
her husband is Manuel Alvares Figueira. So Bagango is just a nickname for
said Manuel. Really old Figueira's can found in Faial da Terra, Nordeste
and Povoacao. Isabel da Costa is said to be 40 years old, more or less.
Paul, I see Mae de Deus after she is mentioned. I also see 25, however, I
cannot tell what it is in reference to. I would check the obits again
starting with March 1736 and work backwards. You could also look for the
first marriage.

Trying to find the parents of my 5-6 X g-grandfather Manoel Alvres. Below
is the link to his 2nd(?) marriage to Luzia Cabral (record on the left).
Where it lists his name I see Maneol Alvres viúvo Izabel da Costa, and
before Luzia's name appears to be 25 (vinte sinco). Would this mean Izabel

1725. This is a common format in that period. Manuel Alvares Bagango or
Baganza married three times. I would look for some children for all these
marriages to ensure this Manoel is the same person. He appears to have
