I have a Boaventura/Ventura in my family tree and the records would
alternate between the two spellings. I beleive they are both correct.

that gave you the name Boaventura some time ago, but now that we have the
benefit of his baptismal record we know that Ventura was his given name.
As I understand it, Boaventura is a more common given name because
