The web site for Portuguese Hawaiian Research is www.yourislandroutes.com
Not the other one. Yes, that other one is a travel web site.

Cheri,
In a previous post on the subject (Pesquisa de Passaportes Feb. 7) you
passed along Mel's e-mail address. I tried to send a message and have yet
to hear from her. I also tried the website yourislandroutes.com and sent
her a message via the e-mail address there, still nor reply. Either s
Thank you Cheri for Mel's email address. As for my my family in Hawaii, all
that I know is both the Azorean branch and the Madeiran branch were of the
Suveric. Then went to seperate islands. The Azorean branch came to the
mainland in 1913. While the Madeirian branch waited until the early 1920's

Yes, the Portuguese Hawaiian Society would be of help, but they have info
only from the American end. And you've probably discovered all that right
now. The fellow's name is Dan or George and his last name is Nelson. He's
on this list. He
Thank you Dano, Aaron and Richard all of you have given me more ideas and
areas to research for the information I seek. Richard, I believe you are
correct that they may have bundled all the plantation workers under one*
type* of passport. Cheri, no I have not contacted Melody or anyone else at
Paul G,
Have you asked Melody Lassalle (Mel) who runs the Your Islands Routes web
site and list?? That's what she calls her Portuguese Hawaiian genealogy
stuff.
You do have your freguesia though. You are able to research going back in
time in the Azores. I know it's annoying missing a piece on

Attached is the passenger manifest for the S.S. Suveric which left port (Ponta
Delgada?) on 5 Oct 1906. My great grandfather and his family are listed on
lines 3 - 9. I have also attached his baptismo record because at the far right

Paul G,
I've looked 3 times. Nada.
I looked down the column for Povoacao, checking for either Matriz, Mae de
Deus, or Lomba anything (since it's squishy). Then I rechecked down the
destination column for Sandwich or Honolulu. I also checked the top and
bottom of each page, looking at the passen
Paul, #472 is the passenger or berth # for the entire family. The numbers are
sequential, so its not the passport #. Occassionally, the passport # is listed,
but that's not it. There seems to be something written between that # and the
names, however, its too small to read from this magnificatio
Hello,
You know, there was a a number written in front of the family, Here is the
number: *AR2226723* Now, I'm not sure if each individual (even
children) were issued a passport number, if they were, then I can't see the
others. I tried uploading the passenger list that Paul had uploaded
Sorry, I need to go to bed.
Look for the council of Povoacao, Matriz or Mae de Deus.

Paul G,
When you said, "He left Sao Miguel via Ponta Delgada on 5 Oct 1906..."
Where did that date come from?
The other thing is that it's hard to look for a Manuel. Go down the column
for the Council and Freguesia and look for R.Grande, Mae de Deus (or maybe
Matriz) and then look to see if it'
Thank Aaron for your help. I do not have a record of him ever going to
Brazil. Something else to explore, I guess. My Silva family is my pateral
grandmother's family. Though I've been in contact with them they refuse to
help.
@Dano, I have checked every Manuel/Manoel from 1 Jan 1900 - 4 Oct 19
Hello,
I went through Ponta Delgada passports, 1906, and did not find Manuel
Bernardo da Silva. I found several Manuel da Silva's, and one Bernardo da
Silva, at least it looked liked Bernardo, but parents were not correct and
the wife was not the same. I did find the baptism record that yo
