Thank you George for the great information. I live in RI and knew a little
about NYC's Portuguese Jewish background but I did not know about Newport's
connection to my ancestors. I really enjoy reading historical information
especially when it pertains to the Portugal ancestry.

Newport. The last time
I was there I took a lot of pictures of local history. Newport has a rich
Colonial History and many early buildings and homes from that era. I'll post

Thank you for this. Coming from Newport I had no idea of any of this. I will
b going back to Newport in June for the summer and had planned on taking a tour
of the Synagogue because my granddaughter wanted to but now I have a better
